Samuel Kiefer will also be joining us with Save the Brains. The Save The Brains campaign is a fundraiser located in Pittsburgh, PA that benefits the Epidermoid Brain Tumor Society (EBTS). It was formed by a then 7-year-old Samuel Kieffer to raise funds for research and create awareness for the rare epidermoid brain tumor. Sam’s father was diagnosed with this rare epidermoid brain tumor almost 6 years ago. It was then that Sam learned how destructive these tumors are and that they continue to regrow even after resection. He was devastated. Once his Dad underwent his second brain surgery, Sam found out there was no research being done on these specific tumors and no other treatment options aside from undergoing multiple brain surgeries. He decided he wanted and needed to help. He started by creating a gofundme page which featured hand written letters asking for help. He went on to setting up roadside lemonade and treat stands. It has been a very successful 2 years since he embarked on this journey. In that time, his team has grown by 3, his lemonade stand has evolved into a traveling beverage and treat stand, and he has raised over $7,000 for research. Please share and follow the journey of a few extraordinary kids who are committed and dedicated to achieving their goal of securing research. They are the voice and hope of hundreds of people around the globe fighting for their lives.
