Voting Rights & Our Democracy | NCJW PGH Annual Meeting

Voter registration and ID laws, ballot access, census participation, modern voting machines... do you know about the issues that will impact the 2020 election? Do you know how can you get involved now to help protect our democracy? NCJW Pittsburgh’s annual meeting features a panel discussion to raise awareness of systemic efforts to deprive people—especially people of color, women, individuals with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals, of the right to vote and curtail their political power—and identify opportunities for you to join the fight to remove barriers to the ballot before Election Day. Our panel of dynamic women leaders includes: Feyisola Alabi, Special Initiatives & Welcoming Pittsburgh Manager, Office of Mayor William Peduto Izzy Bronstein, National Grassroots Organizer, Common Cause Erin Casey, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Voice Jennifer Clarke, Executive Director, Public Interest Law Center The panel discussion will be moderated by Tessa Provins, Assistant Professor of Political Science, University of Pittsburgh. After the panel, stay with us to honor members of the NCJW Pittsburgh community and learn how you can get involved this year: Sarah Blask, NCJW Emerging Leader Award Paula Garret, Ruth & Jerome Lieber Leadership Award Lissa Guttman, Dawn Hirsch Memorial Award Jill Loiben, Presidential Award
